Eduardo Charpenel
is a full-time research professor since 2015 at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico.

His academic training was in philosophy and philology at the Universidad Panamericana itself and at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In Germany, he obtained his PhD in philosophy at the University of Bonn, where he graduated magna cum laude for his dissertation on the notion of character in Aristotle 's ethics. The result of this research is his book Ethos und Praxis. Der Charakterbegriff bei Aristoteles (Karl Alber 2017).

He has been visiting professor and visiting scholar at the University of Bonn. His historical axes of research rest mainly on Ancient Philosophy and German Idealism and the reception of these traditions in contemporary authors. In systematic terms, his research revolves around issues of ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of law, aesthetics, philosophy of culture, and philosophy of religion – topics on which he has published in different international journals and collective books.
